SERVICE to the NATION

Since the founding of the United States, African-Americans, Native Americans and other minorities have served in the military to defend the freedoms inherent in a democracy. They fought in the Civil War, became Tuskegee airmen in WWII, and assumed non-combat duties to protect Americans. By enlisting in the armed services, and by supporting those in service to our nation, they have endeavored to secure and assure freedom for Americans of all cultural backgrounds.
