Orange Cross Roads Missionary Baptist Church

The first church structure was a log building; it burned and members built a wood frame structure on the same property.  Originally, a pot belly stove served as a source for heat; eventually, the church was modernized with electricity, lights, and a heating and cooling system.

Terrell’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church

Terrell’s Creek Missionary Baptist Church was organized in 1862, after the “coloured” members of Antioch Baptist Church requested a meeting to discuss organizing a church of their own.  Mr. John Atwater gave a plot of land to the congregation with the stipulation that a church and a school be built and used for those purposes.
