Freedom through Business & Farm
Minority-owned enterprises and farms once flourished in the cities, towns and rural areas of Orange County. African-Americans achieved freedom through economic development by owning land, operating family farms and managing their own businesses.

They broke the color barrier and entered into the mainstream of the American economy, and in more recent times, many have achieved prominent positions of employment in large firms and agencies. Through perseverance, people of color have contributed to the sustainability of their communities, and to the diversity of economic base.
