McPherson Baseball Park – Hillsborough

Pete McPherson, a dedicated and beloved member of the community, built a baseball part on Nash Street in Hillsborough for the enjoyment of children and adults in the area.  In this photo are: Kenneth Chavious, Ronald Turner, Charles Brooks, Jr., Jerome McPherson, Phillip Brooks, William McPherson and Demietrice Turner.  According to Dorothy Hester Warren, reminiscing years later in 2011, “the park was a main attraction on Sunday afternoons; everybody gather there after church.”
